SICI’s Operation for Lapi Gelatine is a Finalist at the Dematté Award

We are proud to announce that SICI Sviluppo Imprese Centro Italia SGR SpA has been named a finalist in the 21st edition of the Claudio Dematté Private Equity of the Year® Award, promoted by AIFI (Italian Association for Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Private Debt) with the support of prestigious partners such as Intesa Sanpaolo, EY, and Il Sole 24 Ore. This nomination recognizes the strategic collaboration involving Lapi Gelatine S.p.A.

SICI was selected in the Expansion category for its significant operation with Lapi Gelatine at the end of 2021. Through the Rilancio e Sviluppo Fund, SICI supported a capital increase which, combined with other financial resources, enabled Lapi Gelatine to acquire 65% of Juncà Gelatines, strengthening its strategic positioning in the gelatin production sector. In May 2024, this journey was completed with the repurchase by Lapi Group of all shares held by SICI, marking a successful outcome for both parties.

This operation not only solidified Lapi Gelatine’s role in the market but also symbolically celebrates the Lapi Group for successfully executing a complex acquisition, demonstrating a vision for strategic and sustainable growth.

Being named a finalist highlights the solid expertise of the Lapi Group and the top management’s ability to unlock significant development potential.
