Lapi Gelatine, a key company in the Empoli industrial landscape, recently opened the doors of its production site to students from Istituto Tecnico Industriale Ferraris Brunelleschi. The initiative is part of Fabbriche Aperte 2025, an ongoing educational project that connects students with local businesses, supported by Lapi Group’s Progetto Giovani.
The event, held on May 27–28, welcomed students from technical programs in Chemistry, Materials, and Maintenance, offering them first-hand insight into the operations of two local companies: Lapi Gelatine and Laos.
Students observed how production facilities function, discovering how their classroom studies connect to real-world processes. The visit was designed to enrich their technical knowledge and inspire future career choices.
Present at the event were key representatives from the Empoli Municipality, including Deputy Mayor Nedo Mennuti, Councillors Adolfo Bellucci and Matteo Bensi, and Confindustria Toscana Centro e Costa’s coordinator Barbara Antonini.
Their participation reflects strong institutional backing for initiatives that bridge the gap between education and the world of work, especially in a region with a strong manufacturing identity.
Lapi Group has supported Fabbriche Aperte since 2011 in partnership with Confindustria and Federchimica. Every year, over 200 students engage in company visits, thanks to the efforts of the Progetto Giovani team. The goal: to promote workplace culture, offer career orientation, and strengthen the school-business network in Tuscany.
